Updates and a link

This is from country and colonials called 'season's greetings'. I have done quite a few stitches on this one and hope to get it finished soon.

I have started a few weeks ago on 'Alpine Garden'. have only stitched the middle square around, but things like borders and such are easier to stitch when watching television. I love the colors very much of this sampler

This is the start of my first HAED . doesn't look like much, only stitched with dark blue.Started to stitch in the left top corner. Have some messy threads lying around, but was so happy daughter wanted to take pictures and had to hurry.

The last piece I have been working on is a sal I'm doing with a few other stitchers at http://conlaagujaentremisdedos.blogspot.com/. The final picture should like this

Ten eerste: ik vind iedereens lieve commentaar en de suggesties voor mijn HAED zo leuk. Heel erg bedankt daarvoor! Ik zou ze graag allemaal beantwoorden, maarhet lukt me niet een antwoord te geven op een reactie. Ik heb dan ook niet echt een computerhoofd:-)

The awards: ik heb heel veel nagedacht, ben vaak van idee veranderd, heb van alles afgewogen. Er zijn zoveel mensen die deze award verdienen, al jullie blogs zijn schitterend. Ik moet oppassen niet te veel blogs te lezen, of ik krijg gewoon geen steek meer geborduurd!

De liebster award gaat naar:

1. Elena op http://stitchaddict-elena.blogspot.com/. Ze heeft haar blog nog niet zo lang en ze is met heel mooie dingen bezig.

2. Ines http://conlaagujaentremisdedos.blogspot.com/. Ik vind het werkje bovenaan haar blog zo grappig!

 Ze geeft vaak heel leuke linken en is aan de schitterendste projecten bezig. Ik ben met haar aan de LULU sal bezig. In 't spaans, maar dat spreek ik ook niet, dus gebruik ik google translator maar en zij spreekt zelf engels en frans.

3. Marcella http://nuttigenfraai.blogspot.com/. Ze gebruikt zoveel verschillende technieken en heeft me al een heleboel inspiratie gegeven. En vergeet zeker niet te kijken naar haar project dat ze pas nog heeft laten zien. Dat vind ik werkelijk ongelofelijk, maar je moet er wel erg goede ogen voor hebben.

4. Carrie http://addictedtostiching.blogspot.com/ Zij werkt echt aan zoveel verschillende en allemaal zo'n schitterende projecten.

5. De laatste award wilde ik geven aan http://finishfriday.blogspot.com. Andrea heeft deze blog gemaakt. Hier kan je je afgewerkte borduurwerken laten zien (of linken?) . Showtime!

Volgens mij is het een geweldig idee en ik hoop dat heel veel mensen deze blog gaan gebruiken.

Today I got a Liebster award. This is a very nice way to be celebrating easter!.The award was given to me by http://saramsborduurblog.blogspot.com/. I hope you all take a look at this blog. Wonderful projects, some of whom I haven't seen anywhere else and a great stitcher!  Thank you soooooo much for this award.


Liebster is a German word meaning Dearest or Beloved, it can also mean Favorite.  The idea behind the Liebster Blog Award is that it is given to upcoming bloggers (with fewer than 200 followers) in order to create new connections and bring attention to wonderful growing blogs.


Now this Liebster award comes with a few conditions:
1. you have to explain the meaning of the word
2. you have to link back and thank the person who awarded you (so thank you again and please check http://saramsborduurblog.blogspot.com.)
3. you have to give five facts about yourself that are not common knowledge
4. You have to give the award to five upcoming blogs with less than 200 followers.  You have to let these people know by a comment on their blog.To


As to choosing five blogs, that is quite a challenge. I am going to nominate these blogs later this week, cause I know so many bloggers I would like to give this award, so some thinking needs to be done.


Five things about me:
1. I love strawberries: when strawberry season is there, I eat several pounds a day
2. my favorite city in the world is Rome ( and of course the city I'm living next to, Antwerp)
3. I was retired at the age of 35 due to severe illness. But getting a bit better everyday now...
4. I learned to stitch at the age of six (at school) and still love it!!!

Vandaag heb ik een Liebster award gekregen. Zo'n leuke manier om pasen te vieren. Ik heb de award gekregen van http://saramsborduurblog.blogspot.com. Ik hoop dat jullie allemaal een kijkje nemen. Ik vind het een geweldige blog, met schitterende projecten waarvan ik er verschillende nergens anders heb gezien en het geborduurde werk is allemaal bijzonder mooi. Heel erg bedankt voor deze award!

Liebster is een Duits woord dat betekent 'liefste', en ook 'favoriete' kan betekenen. De bedoeling ervan is  deze award te geven aan beginnende bloggers die minder dan 200 volgers hebben. op deze wijze leren meer mensen deze geweldige opkomende blogs kennen.

Aan de Liebster award zijn ook een paar voorwaarden verbonden.

1. je moet de betekenis van het woord uitleggen

2. je moet diegene die je de award gegeven heeft bedanken en naar haar site doorverwijzen. Dus: nogmaals bedankt, en ga alsjeblieft een kijkje nemen op http://saramsborduurblog.blogspot.com. Het is echt de moeite waard.

1. ik ben dol op aardbeien. Eens het aardbeienseizoen er is, eet ik alle dagen een paar kilo.

2. mijn meest favoriete stad is Rome (en natuurlijk de stad die bijna op wandelafstand ligt, Antwerpen)

3. Omwille van ernstige ziekte ben ik helaas op mijn 35 gepensioneerd. Gelukkig word ik nu all dagen een beetje beter

4.Ik heb op school leren borduren toen ik zes was e ben er nog altijd dol op!!!

starting a HAED and links to giveaways

Last week my HAED chart arrived. As I have been a lot of spring cleaning, I ignored it until yesterday. At that time it screamed way too loud to be ignored so I had to start it. Okay, I have only prepared the fabric and gathered the floss, but it is a start. The only thing that worries me is the size of the fabric. anyone has an advise on that? what do I do with the big bulk of fabric Doesn't the fabric I'm not stitching on in my way?


I also decided to start again on the sal 'the great escape', designed by wonderful Abi for the specialty stitchers. I didn't like the colours I chose, but I did like the specialty stitches, so I decided I could better start all over. I promise to put a picture very soon!

Vorige week is mijn eerste HAED kaart aangekomen. Ben bezig geweest met de grote schoonmaak, dus het lukte me wel om deze kaart te negeren, maar gisterenavond was er geen ontkomen meer aan. Ik heb alleen nog maar de stof voorbereid en dmc verzameld, maar dat is toch al iets. Ik ben wel een beetje bezorgd over de grootte van het project, wat doe ik met al die stof waar ik niet op werk? Heeft er iemand een advies? Geraakt al die stof niet te veel in de weg? 

Ik ben ook terug begonnen aan mijn sal 'the great escape', die Abi speciaal voor de groep Specialty stitchers ontworpen heeft. Ik vond mijn kleuren absoluut niet mooi, maar vond het borduren met de speciale steken erg leuk, dus kon ik even goed opnieuw beginnen. Foto's volgen snel.

hallo allemaal,

de afgelopen dagen ben ik zo druk bezig geweest: poetsen, opruimen, koken enz..Vandaag heb ik met mijn kleine nichtjes paaseieren gemaakt van stof. Ik had een heel leuk voorbeeld gevonden op deze blog http://retro-mama.blogspot.com/2009/03/easter-is-in-air.html.
Echt een eivorm hebben ze er niet in gekregen, maar ze vonden het wel erg leuk!
Voor borduren heb ik veel te weinig tijd gehad, maar vanaf morgen heb ik een aantal uren aan mezelf toebedeeld en die dienen enkel om te borduren. Nieuwe foto's volgen snel.

Hi all,
I've been very busy the past few days with cleaning, cooking etc. Today I tried to make eastern eggs with my little nieces. I found a cute pattern on http://retro-mama.blogspot.com/2009/03/easter-is-in-air.html. The eggs had a strange shape here, but the little ones enjoyed themselves a lot!
I didn't have real stitching time, but starting tomorrow I promised myself a lot of hours just to stitch. New pictures will follow soon.

for those who asked: it is not my garden in the top picture,it's a garden on a holiday in france. I do have a very big garden here and a very enjoyable roof terrace, but there's a lot of work to be done before it is ready for spring and summer.
