Papillon SAL and update Lulu la belle

First things first. Here's my update on Lulu la Belle which I'm working on in a SAL. You can find everything about it at Inès 
It's so nice to work on, but I had to frog everything out last week as I worked with two threads and the fabric is too small. I started again with one thread and it's much more beautiful this way.

This week I got my threads from Nina I had ordered a few more so I could choose when I got them. I did make a choice based on the pictures Nina sent of the colors, but wasn't sure about one or two colors. So now I'm all ready to start working on all these specialty stitches, which I'm going to do this evening and tomorrow. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Hugs

Het belangrijkste eerst. Hier zijn de vorderingen met Lula la Belle, een SAL waaraan ik deelneem. Je kan alles erover vinden bij Inès 

Het is heel leuk om aan te werken, maar ik moest vorige week alles uithalen. Ik werkte namelijk met twee draden en de stof was veel te fijn. Opnieuw begonnen dus met één draad en het is zo veel mooier.

Ik heb deze week ook mijn garen van Nina gekregen. I had er wat meer besteld om te kunnen kiezen als ze aankwamen. Ik had namelijk gekozen op basis van de foto's die Nina gestuurd had van de kleuren tesamen, maar ik was niet zeker van één of twee kleuren. Dus nu ben ik helemaal klaar om al die speciale steekjes te borduren, en daar begin ik vanavond mee en morgen doe ik voort. Ik wens jullie allemaal een schitterend weekend! Knuffel

This is Lulu la Belle. It's sometimes challenging to work on this fine fabric, but she will be so lovely. We agreed to work only on wednesdays on her and she has to be ready in september..

These are the hand dyed threads I choose. I loved all the colors but wanted to make a further selection.

This is a gift Nina added and I know exactly what to do with the little bobbin. Thank you ever so much Nina, I was really happy with these threads and the bobbin!

These are the colors and the fabric I finally choose for my Papillon Sal. However, if it doesn't work out the way I want to, I still have alternatives.

IHSW update, way too late:-)

I'm terribly late, but here are my pictures on the little progress I made. I only worked on two pieces and kitted up some other things.  Het is verschrikkelijk laat, maar hier zijn mijn foto's van het beetje vooruitgang dat ik geboekt heb. Ik heb maar aan twee projecten gewerkt en een aantal voorbereid. Ik hoop dit weekend nog eens een IHSW op mijn eentje te kunnen doen. This is the second piece of the Dawn of Spring sampler designed by Mouse http://talesofastitchingmouse.blogspot.com/ I love working on it, so I don't mind I didn't get the second part totally done. Have to do in the next row Spider stitchers and am very curious how that will turn out:-).

This is a SAL ABC Romantique I'm following on a french site http://vavi.over-blog.com/article-on-inaugure-l-album-103999936.html I almost finished part 1, but part two had been sent beginning of this week. It's a lovely project to work on, so I'm going to finish my first two parts hopefully very soon.

Update on TUSAL

                                                                                                                     Here is my TUSAL update of this month (info on TUSAL: http://itsdaffycat.blogspot.com/2011/11/totally-useless-stitch-long.html. Not much to show, but hubby thought all these little threads didn't belong in the jar,so he threw them away. On top I didn't stitch as much as other months. Update on stitching progress and IHSW will come one of these days.
I had a good stitching day yesterday, especially on the frogging front:-) But it has to be done, so I can go on now. Also I finally choose my colors for my SAL de Papillon. Took me quite some time as I wanted to choose the hand dyed and I hadn't seen them all in reality, but Nina was so sweet to take pictures of the color combination I asked for. I hope to be starting it next week!
Today has been a bad day: I got up with a terrible headache, and it seems it has come to stay all day:-(
My little niece made cookies with chocolate and I managed to get some chocolate on my cross stitch work, DH has been watching cycling and F1 all day and the weather is very dark. Tomorrow can only be a better!
So I decided to take a break from cross stitching and check a few blogs, but forgive me if I didn't post a comment yet on your blogposts. I hope to catch up one of these days.

Anyway, to remind myself that I can manage to get cross stitching projects done without chocolate all over them, and to show you some cross stitching (after all it is a cross stitching blog), here is a baby sampler I did a few years ago.

Hier is mijn TUSAL update van deze maand (info over TUSAL :http://itsdaffycat.blogspot.com/2011/11/totally-useless-stitch-long.html.) Niet veel om te laten zien, maar manlief dacht dat al die losse draadjes niet in het kommetje hoorden te liggen en heeft er veel weggegooid. Bovendien heb ik deze maand niet zoveel geboduurd. Een dezer dagen zal ik een overzicht gegeven van hoeveel ik opgeschoten ben, vooral dan in mijn IHSW dagen.

In ieder geval heb ik gisteren behoorlijk veel kunnen borduren en vooral ook veel mogen terug losmaken:-) Ik heb eindelijk ook de kleuren voor mijn SAL de Papillon gekozen. Dat was nogal moeilijk omdat ik verschillende kleuren nog niet in het echt gezien had (van de handgeverfde garens). Maar Nina heeft me heel erg geholpen en foto's genomen van de combinaties. Ik hoop einde deze week toch te kunnen beginnen.

Vandaag heb ik een baaldag gehad: opgestaan met vreselijke hoofdpijn en die lijkt echt wel voor een hele dag op bezoek. Dan ben ik er ook nog in geslaagd om de chocolade van het koekje dat mijn nichtje gemaakt had aan mijn borduurwerk te smeren, is mijn man al de ganse dag wielrennen en F1 aan het kijken en is het weer zo verschrikkelijk donker. Morgen kan dus alleen beter zijn!

Ik heb dus maar eventjes een pauze genomen van mijn borduren en ben al wat blogs aan het lezen geweest. Sorry als ik nog niet gereageerd heb op sommige blogposts, maar ik hoop de volgende dagen wat leesschade in te halen.

Om mezelf eraan te herinneren dat ik een borduurwerk kan afwerken zonder chocoladevingers en omdat dit toch een borduurblog is, heb ik een een babysampler erbij gezet die ik een paar jaar geleden heb gemaakt.

I just got a wonderful package in the mail. I ordered a few days ago some hand dyed linen and hand dyed floss at Nina http://xszemkozt.blogspot.com/. I had to take a picture of it (although it is absolutely not a good one, you'd better look at her blog:-)) as I was unbelievably thrilled by the stunning colors of the threads and the linen!

Ik kreeg zojuist een pakje met de post. Een paar dagen geleden heb ik handgeverfd linnen en borduurgaren besteld bij Nina http://xszemkozt.blogspot.com/. Ik moest er echt een foto van nemen ( al is het absoluut geen goede, dus je kijkt beter even naar haar blog), zo opgetogen was ik door de schitterende kleuren van het garen en het linnen!

As I said last week, my next post would be a giveaway. I was hoping to have this week 50 followers and I already have more, so here it goes. Besides: I don't really need a reason, I love making other people happy:-).The first giveaway would only be open for followers, the second is open to everyone. Only thing I'm asking is that you leave a comment at this post and tell me which desigers or type of design you like most.  Just being curious:-) and maybe sometimes I find something in my stash I can make someone happy with....

The first person gets a piece of 28 ct linen fabric (fat quarter...) in light apricot,very soft color, and also very neutral.  The second giveaway is a piece of light moss evenweave 28 ct. I think it is a lovely color, I'm working on it myself  for the sal 'the great escape' van Abi Gurden (from the yahoo group the stitch specialists) Both pieces are approximately a fat quarter (27 x 19 inches) It is very difficult to take pictures and get the color of the fabric right, but I hope my color indication together with the picture gives an adequate impression. Names (of the winners) will be drawn by my little nieces who live next doors and who will be more then happy to do us this favor. You have to reply to this message before 30 april midnight my time zone.

evenweave 28 ct light moss green

I'm looking forward to read all these messages! By the end of the week -before I go into hermit mode (see link at the sidebar)-  an update on my stitching project will follow. Unfortunately I had little time to stitch, so I have only worked on a few of my sals.

Vorige week heb ik het al gezegd: mijn volgende blogpost zou een giveaway zijn. Ik had gehoopt deze week 50 mensen die me volgden te bereiken. Het zijn er ondertussen al meer, dus...Bovendien: ik heb niet echt een reden nodig, ik vind het ook erg leuk om iemand blij te maken:-) De eerste giveaway is enkel voor de mensen die mijn blog volgen. De tweede is open voor iedereen . Het enige wat ik vraag is dat je bij dit bericht een commentaar achterlaat waarin je me vertelt welke ontwerpsters of welk soort patronen je het liefst ziet. Ik ben gewoon nieuwsgierig:-) en misschien vind ik soms wel iets tussen al mijn spullen waarmee ik iemand kan blij maken.

De eerste winnaar krijgt aan stuk linen (28 ct) in licht abrikoos.Het is een heel zachte kleur en tegelijk ook heel neutraal. De tweede giveaway is een stuk 28 ct. evenweave in licht mosgroen. Ik vind het zelf een erg mooie kleur en ben er  op aan het werken voor mijn sal 'the great escape' van Abi Gurden (van de yahoo groep the stitch specialists). Allebei de stukken stof zijn ongeveer een fat quarter (50 x 70 cm, maar kan een paar centimeter schelen)

Het is moeilijk om de kleur van de stof juist te krijgen op een foto, maar ik hoop dat mijn kleuraanwijzingen tesamen met de foto een goeie indruk geven. De winnaars worden getrokken door mijn 'buurnichtjes' die met heel veel plezier die taak op zich zullen nemen. Om mee te doen, moet je op dit bericht reageren voor 30 april middernacht in mijn tijdzone.

Ik kijk ernaar uit om al die berichten te lezen. Op het einde van de week -voor ik een borduurkluizenaar word (zie link International Hermit and Stitch Weekend opzij)- zal ik een update posten op wat ik gedaan heb. Helaas heb ik veel te weinig tijd gehad om te borduren, ik heb alleen  een beetje aan mijn sals gewerkt.

A complete blogpost

Seriously: It is with some reason I called my blog Dulcinella and her chaos:-) I managed today to put a blogpost on the wrong blog. But here it goes: the complete blogpost as it was meant to be.

Have not done too much stitching this week. Lots of things going on: hubby returned from two week trip to Italy (with high school students), and we had lots of dinner,breakfast,lunch and other eating appointments.
Also, when preparing to stitch, I get a sudden urge to clean my stash...this forces me to buy new stash. Don't know if other people have this:  one can have so much linen fabrics, when you want to start something, you don't have the right color or something even close to it. Anyway, I bought some new linens, scissors, some beautiful skeins of waterlilies, needles (never can have that enough) and so on. I haven't got all my packages yet, but the fabric arrived and it is lovely. It's sometimes so difficult to buy on the internet, cause you cannot see the colors, but there is not really a very well assorted needlework shop nearby:-(

On some of the  pictures you will notice loose threads. As my DD wanted to take my pictures I had to hurry a bit, but didn't think of some threads I'm working with. Besides I was way too happy she wanted to take them for me as she is a photographer, and I am definitively not:-). I have started a few weeks ago on 'Alpine Garden'. have only stitched the middle square around, but things like borders and such are easier to stitch when watching television. I love the colors so much!!!                                                                                                                                         Ik ben een paar weken geleden aan 'Alpîne Garden' van Drawn Thread begonnen.dIk heb alleen nog maar een stukje in het midden gedaan, maar zoiets werkt erg gemakkelijk bij de televisie. Ik vind de kleuren ervan heel erg mooi!

This is from Country and Colonials called 'Season's Greetings'. I have done quite a few stitches on this one and hope to get it finished soon.                                                                                                                                                                    Dit is van Country and Colonials en heet 'Season's Greetings'. Hieraan heb ik wel wat kunnen borduren en ik hoop dit vrij snel te kunnen afwerken.

This is the start of my first HAED . doesn't look like much, only stitched with dark blue.Started to stitch in the left top corner. Have some messy threads lying around, but was so happy daughter wanted to take pictures and had to hurry.                                                                                                                      Dit is de start van mijn HAED. Het lijkt nog op niet veel, ik heb alleen nog maar met donkerblauw geborduurd. Sorry dat er wat rommelige draden in zicht liggen, maar ik was zo blij dat mijn dochter foto's wilde nemen en moest mij een beetje haasten.

Ik heb deze week niet zoveel geborduurd. Teveel dingen  aan de hand: manlief kwam terug van Italie na een veertiendaagse trip met de leerlingen van het laatste jaar, heel veel brunches, lunches en andere eetafspraken. Bovendien: elke keer als ik van plan ben te borduren, voel ik mij plots genoodzaakt mijn voorraad op te ruimen. Ik weet niet of andere mensen dit hebben: je kan nu zoveel soorten en kleuren linnen hebben, maar als je aan iets wil beginnen, heb je toch niet datgene wat je nodig hebt of dat in de buurt komt. Dus heb ik linnen gekocht, een paar strengetjes waterlilies, naalden (kan je nooit genoeg van hebben), een schaartje, enz...Al mijn pakjes zijn nog niet gearriveerd, maar het linnen wel en het is zo mooi! Soms vind ik het wel moeilijk om op het internet te kopen omdat je de kleur toch niet echt kan zien, maar echt goede handwerkwinkels zijn in de buurt niet te vinden:-(

Op sommige van de foto's zal je losse draadjes zien. Maar mijn liefste dochter wilde de foto's wel nemen, en ik moest me een beetje haasten, waardoor ik de draden waarmee ik aan het werken was vergeten ben. Bovendien was ik veel te blij dat zij de foto's wilde nemen aangezien zij fotograaf is, en ik heel duidelijk niet:-) Voor diegenen onder jullie die geinteresseerd zijn,je kan haar blog zien op http://eefjedeconinck.blogspot.com/  enn haar website op http://www.eefjedeconinck.com/.
