Papillon SAL and update Lulu la belle

First things first. Here's my update on Lulu la Belle which I'm working on in a SAL. You can find everything about it at Inès
It's so nice to work on, but I had to frog everything out last week as I worked with two threads and the fabric is too small. I started again with one thread and it's much more beautiful this way.

This week I got my threads from Nina I had ordered a few more so I could choose when I got them. I did make a choice based on the pictures Nina sent of the colors, but wasn't sure about one or two colors. So now I'm all ready to start working on all these specialty stitches, which I'm going to do this evening and tomorrow. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Hugs
Claire

Knuffel
Claire
This is Lulu la Belle. It's sometimes challenging to work on this fine fabric, but she will be so lovely. We agreed to work only on wednesdays on her and she has to be ready in september..
These are the hand dyed threads I choose. I loved all the colors but wanted to make a further selection.
This is a gift Nina added and I know exactly what to do with the little bobbin. Thank you ever so much Nina, I was really happy with these threads and the bobbin!
These are the colors and the fabric I finally choose for my Papillon Sal. However, if it doesn't work out the way I want to, I still have alternatives.

IHSW update, way too late:-)

I'm terribly late, but here are my pictures on the little progress I made. I only worked on two pieces and kitted up some other things. Hope I can do this weekend a IHSW on my own:-) For those of you who don't know what a IHSW is, take a look http://joysze.blogspot.com/p/international-hermit-and-stitch-weekend.html

This is the second piece of the Dawn of Spring sampler designed by Mouse http://talesofastitchingmouse.blogspot.com/ I love working on it, so I don't mind I didn't get the second part totally done. Have to do in the next row Spider stitchers and am very curious how that will turn out:-).
This is a SAL ABC Romantique I'm following on a french site http://vavi.over-blog.com/article-on-inaugure-l-album-103999936.html I almost finished part 1, but part two had been sent beginning of this week. It's a lovely project to work on, so I'm going to finish my first two parts hopefully very soon.

Update on TUSAL

Bijschrift toevoegen

Here is my TUSAL update of this month (info on TUSAL: http://itsdaffycat.blogspot.com/2011/11/totally-useless-stitch-long.html. Not much to show, but hubby thought all these little threads didn't belong in the jar,so he threw them away. On top I didn't stitch as much as other months. Update on stitching progress and IHSW will come one of these days.
I had a good stitching day yesterday, especially on the frogging front:-) But it has to be done, so I can go on now. Also I finally choose my colors for my SAL de Papillon. Took me quite some time as I wanted to choose the hand dyed and I hadn't seen them all in reality, but Nina was so sweet to take pictures of the color combination I asked for. I hope to be starting it next week!
Today has been a bad day: I got up with a terrible headache, and it seems it has come to stay all day:-(
My little niece made cookies with chocolate and I managed to get some chocolate on my cross stitch work, DH has been watching cycling and F1 all day and the weather is very dark. Tomorrow can only be a better!
So I decided to take a break from cross stitching and check a few blogs, but forgive me if I didn't post a comment yet on your blogposts. I hope to catch up one of these days.

Anyway, to remind myself that I can manage to get cross stitching projects done without chocolate all over them, and to show you some cross stitching (after all it is a cross stitching blog), here is a baby sampler I did a few years ago.

Wishing you all a wonderfull week!

package arrived

I just got a wonderful package in the mail. I ordered a few days ago some hand dyed linen and hand dyed floss at Nina http://xszemkozt.blogspot.com/. I had to take a picture of it (although it is absolutely not a good one, you'd better look at her blog:-)) as I was unbelievably thrilled by the stunning colors of the threads and the linen!

giveaway

linen 28 count light apricot
As I said last week, my next post would be a giveaway. I was hoping to have this week 50 followers and I already have more, so here it goes. Besides: I don't really need a reason, I love making other people happy:-).The first giveaway would only be open for followers, the second is open to everyone. Only thing I'm asking is that you leave a comment at this post and tell me which desigers or type of design you like most.  Just being curious:-) and maybe sometimes I find something in my stash I can make someone happy with....

The first person gets a piece of 28 ct linen fabric (fat quarter...) in light apricot, very soft color, and also very neutral.  The second giveaway is a piece of light moss evenweave 28 ct. I think it is a lovely color, I'm working on it myself  for the sal 'the great escape' van Abi Gurden (from the yahoo group the stitch specialists) Both pieces are approximately a fat quarter (27 x 19 inches) It is very difficult to take pictures and get the color of the fabric right, but I hope my color indication together with the picture gives an adequate impression. Names (of the winners) will be drawn by my little nieces who live next doors and who will be more then happy to do us this favor. You have to reply to this message before 30 april midnight my time zone.

evenweave 28 ct light moss green
I'm looking forward to read all these messages! By the end of the week -before I go into hermit mode (see link at the sidebar)-  an update on my stitching project will follow. Unfortunately I had little time to stitch, so I have only worked on a few of my sals.

hugs to all

A complete blogpost

Seriously: It is with some reason I called my blog Dulcinella and her chaos:-) I managed today to put a blogpost on the wrong blog. But here it goes: the complete blogpost as it was meant to be.

Have not done too much stitching this week. Lots of things going on: hubby returned from two week trip to Italy (with high school students), and we had lots of dinner, breakfast, lunch and other eating appointments.
Also, when preparing to stitch, I get a sudden urge to clean my stash...this forces me to buy new stash. Don't know if other people have this:  one can have so much linen fabrics, when you want to start something, you don't have the right color or something even close to it. Anyway, I bought some new linens, scissors, some beautiful skeins of waterlilies, needles (never can have that enough) and so on. I haven't got all my packages yet, but the fabric arrived and it is lovely. It's sometimes so difficult to buy on the internet, cause you cannot see the colors, but there is not really a very well assorted needlework shop nearby:-(

On some of the  pictures you will notice loose threads. As my DD wanted to take my pictures I had to hurry a bit, but didn't think of some threads I'm working with. Besides I was way too happy she wanted to take them for me as she is a photographer, and I am definitively not:-). For those of you who are interested, you can see her blog at http://eefjedeconinck.blogspot.com/ and her website at http://www.eefjedeconinck.com/.

Before I show you the pictures, I wanted to give another link. Mel at http://epicstitching.blogspot.com/2012/04/baby-sampler-bracelet-giveaway.html is doing a giveaway and asked others stitchers if they wanted to put a link.

That's all for now, next post will be a giveaway! Have a nice weekend with lots of happy stitching!
hugs

I have started a few weeks ago on 'Alpine Garden'. have only stitched the middle square around, but things like borders and such are easier to stitch when watching television. I love the colors so much!!!

This is from Country and Colonials called 'Season's Greetings'. I have done quite a few stitches on this one and hope to get it finished soon.

This is the start of my first HAED . doesn't look like much, only stitched with dark blue.Started to stitch in the left top corner. Have some messy threads lying around, but was so happy daughter wanted to take pictures and had to hurry.

The last piece I have been working on is a mini-sal  I'm doing with a few other stitchers at http://conlaagujaentremisdedos.blogspot.com/. The final picture should like this:

as we're only working on this on wednesdays and I just started, I only put a few stitches in.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....:-)

First: I love everyone's sweet comments  and the suggestions you have made about my HAED. Thank you so much! I would love to answer everyone of them, but I cannot find how to answer to a reaction on the blog. Not really a computer head I suppose:-)

The awards: I have done a lot of thinking, changing my mind, rethinking etc...
There are so much people who deserve this award, as you all have such lovely blogs...I have to be careful not reading to much blogs, or there will be no stitching done!

The award goes to
1.elena at
http://stitchaddict-elena.blogspot.com/ who only recently has started blogging time and has some lovely projects going on

2. Ines at http://conlaagujaentremisdedos.blogspot.com/
Look at the funny piece at the top of her blog:-) she always gives great links and is working on the most georgous projects. It is in Spanish, but I don't speak any spanish, I just use google translate:-) Besides she speaks english and french! I'm doing her Sal on Lulu.

3. Marcella at http://nuttigenfraai.blogspot.com/. (dutch). She uses so many different craft techniques and I have to thank her for giving so much inspiration. And just look at her project she published in april. It is absolutely stunning (but you have to have very good eyes to stitch like that)

4.Carrie at http://addictedtostiching.blogspot.com/ She is really working on so much and such wonderful projects!

5. the last award I wanted to give to http://finishfriday.blogspot.com.
Andrea made this blog where you can submit your finished pieces and show off! Methinks the overall idea is great and I do hope a lot of people will find this website.

For those I haven't given an award: I like your blogs, I love them,I read them all! I only had five awards to give:-(

But: I'm doing a giveaway in the beginning of next week, one among followers  and one for everyone, so watch out!
Hugs to all,

Dus goed opletten!

liefs voor iedereen

liebster award

Today I got a Liebster award. This is a very nice way to be celebrating easter!.The award was given to me by http://saramsborduurblog.blogspot.com/. I hope you all take a look at this blog. Wonderful projects, some of whom I haven't seen anywhere else and a great stitcher!  Thank you soooooo much for this award.

Liebster is a German word meaning Dearest or Beloved, it can also mean Favorite.  The idea behind the Liebster Blog Award is that it is given to upcoming bloggers (with fewer than 200 followers) in order to create new connections and bring attention to wonderful growing blogs.

Now this Liebster award comes with a few conditions:
1. you have to explain the meaning of the word
2. you have to link back and thank the person who awarded you (so thank you again and please check http://saramsborduurblog.blogspot.com.)
3. you have to give five facts about yourself that are not common knowledge
4. You have to give the award to five upcoming blogs with less than 200 followers.  You have to let these people know by a comment on their blog.To

As to choosing five blogs, that is quite a challenge. I am going to nominate these blogs later this week, cause I know so many bloggers I would like to give this award, so some thinking needs to be done.

Five things about me:
1. I love strawberries: when strawberry season is there, I eat several pounds a day
2. my favorite city in the world is Rome ( and of course the city I'm living next to, Antwerp)
3. I was retired at the age of 35 due to severe illness. But getting a bit better everyday now...
4. I learned to stitch at the age of six (at school) and still love it!!!
5. I love the color fuchsia so much

Happy Easter monday to all of you!

Vijf weetjes over mij:

Fijne paasmaandag allemaal!

starting a HAED and links to giveaways

Last week my HAED chart arrived. As I have been a lot of spring cleaning, I ignored it until yesterday. At that time it screamed way too loud to be ignored so I had to start it. Okay, I have only prepared the fabric and gathered the floss, but it is a start. The only thing that worries me is the size of the fabric. anyone has an advise on that? what do I do with the big bulk of fabric Doesn't the fabric I'm not stitching on in my way?

I also decided to start again on the sal 'the great escape', designed by wonderful Abi for the specialty stitchers. I didn't like the colours I chose, but I did like the specialty stitches, so I decided I could better start all over. I promise to put a picture very soon!

I have two more links to give from bloggers that are organizing a giveaway
First there I Julie who is organizing a giveaway at http://juliesandyesdearsravings.blogspot.com/2012/04/finish-fridays-blog.html. She is a wonderful lady with a blog I like to read a lot!
Her latest finish is posted on a new blog, called friday finish blog, where stitches can post on fridays their new finishes. I already know I will love this blog a lot. You can find it athttp://finishfriday.blogspot.com/

a second giveaway is being organized by Kath whose blog I only recently discovered. I've seen she has a lot of puzzling on her blog and sells some stash of hers, for those who are interested:-) http://kathsstitchingheaven.blogspot.co.uk/

Vorige week is mijn eerste HAED kaart aangekomen.

links to giveaway and freebies

hallo allemaal,

Hi all,
I've been very busy the past few days with cleaning, cooking etc. Today I tried to make eastern eggs with my little nieces. I found a cute pattern on http://retro-mama.blogspot.com/2009/03/easter-is-in-air.html. The eggs had a strange shape here, but the little ones enjoyed themselves a lot!
I didn't have real stitching time, but starting tomorrow I promised myself a lot of hours just to stitch. New pictures will follow soon.
For those of you who like giveaways, you can find one on http://christelle1410.over-blog.com/
the blog is in french, so you might want to use your translater.you can find also several links to freebies on her blog.

hugs to all
